ESME HAS BEEN ADOPTED 12/21/15.

WE HAVE STOPPED ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR HER.

Hello, my name is “Esme” (pronounced Ez-may and means “beloved”) and I am a female, Siamese Lynx Point mix, born on September 10, 2015 (I'm almost 3 months old).  Abandoned at 5-weeks of age, I survived on the mean streets until I was saved by a nice lady and taken to MISR.

In the first two photos, I am on the left and the other kitten is “Mooshoo” or “Moosh.”  The third photo is of me my first day at MISR when they gave me a bath!  Anyway, Moosh is my BFF and we live in a foster home with a great foster dad.  Moosh is about 7-months-old and is a Seal Point Siamese.

We have our own room and love to run and play.  I have a very outgoing personality and tons of energy.  Moosh likes to play, too.

I will need to be spayed when I am about 5 months old (February 2016) so my adopter will need to leave a $75 deposit with MISR to ensure that it’s done. Deposit will be refunded upon proof of spay.

Moosh and I would love to stay together but right now; she is under the care of a specialist for medical issues.

Update on Moosh 12/14/15

Moosh’s condition is called: “Proctitis” (an inflammation of the lining of the rectum) and she is improving.  Prognosis:  Roughly 33% that she stays like she is now; 33% that she will get somewhat better; and 33% that she will get remarkably better (e.g. normal).

The plan is to continue to re-evaluate subjectively every six weeks.  Moosh needs to learn to clean herself and feel that the job is done.  She needs to learn to anticipate defecation, and feel that the job is done.  It will take time to undo her current behavior and it will take time for her anal tissue to remodel further.

Esme says: If I am adopted without Moosh, I need to be in a home with another young cat.  As far as a family with children…I may be okay with an older child or two but no young children and certainly not a bunch of them (who will all want to hold me and pet me). I need gentle handling.

The adoption fee for Esme is $150 plus the $75 (refundable) deposit and the adoption fee for Moosh (when she is cleared for adoption) is $200.  Moosh will be spayed before her adoption so that may delay adoption for an additional two weeks.

All MISR cats are FIV/FELV negative, current on vaccinations (if old enough to be vaccinated) and all known health issues have been addressed.  Moosh will not be available for adoption until we have clearance from the vet specialist.
