Hello, my name is Miriam. I am a Siamese/Calico mix, female, spayed, born October 11, 2013 which makes me a little over 4 years.

I was adopted as a kitten but my owners sent me back to the Humane Society when I was six-months-old.  I don’t know why they didn’t want me. I am good natured, well-behaved and have good litter box habits.  It didn’t help my self esteem and left me feeling insignificant.  I was a very scared kitten at the Humane Society, huddled in a corner of my cage.

Then, a nice lady from MISR saw me and I was lucky enough to go home with her.  I am in a very nice foster home.  It took a long time for me to overcome my fear of people and other cats but I am now a functioning member of the cat society though still a bit shy.  Quick movements and noises still startle me which means I am not a good pet for little children.

I know I am not as pretty as some of the other kitties but I am a very nice girl.  I’ve been waiting for a home of my own for so long.  It has been three years and I am discouraged.  I have watched many of my foster kitty friends go to new homes.  I see how happy the kitties and their new families are going out the door, while I am left behind.  I keep wondering, will it ever be my turn?

Don’t get me wrong, I love my kitty friends, my foster dad and aunt.  I even have a best friend, named “Bugs.”  We enjoy curling up and taking "cat naps" together. But I yearn for a home and family of my own.

Is there someone out there who is kind-hearted and doesn’t think that looks are so important? I’m not homely; I just look more like a Calico than a Siamese. Can you get beyond the fact that I am not a traditional Siamese?  Can you please open your heart and home to a sad, well-behaved, non-Siamese, kitty?

All MISR cats are neutered/spayed, FIV/FELV negative, have current rabies and distemper inoculations.  Any known health issues have been addressed.  The adoption fee for Mariam is $150.

MARIAM IS IN A PRIVATE FOSTER HOME IN NOVI MI.
