What a beautiful young lady! Her paw pads are dark dark brown so she is a Seal Point from 1-2 years old. Her behavior is so kittenish that I would not be surprised if she is on the younger side. Very loving and affectionate. She purrs as soon as she sees anyone and everyone. She loves to be held on our laps. She is spayed and up to date on shots.
Her bloodwork came back with a weak positive for Feline heartworm. This was very surprising, as cats are not the host of choice for heartworm as it is not as "friendly" an environment as dogs. As her treatment, she is being given monthly doses of Heartworm Prevention Medication and has started on prednizone (pill) both of which help her body's natural inclination to rid itself of the heartworm. The vet feels that it was caught early and prognosis is good. With rest, good nutrition and plenty of love she has a good chance of beating this. Also she is not presenting with any of the symptoms most often associated with a heartworm infection.
She has quite a fan club at her vets! And she loves the attention. Please come to visit this little gal and see if she would be a great addition to your family. Also, her vet is a wonderful lady who can educate an adopter in her treatment and prognosis.
