Hi there everybody!!!!! My name is DeiWei (pronounced Die-weigh). I'm told that in Chinese my name means "highly noble", but I’m just a little tyke, only about 10 weeks old and have to grow into the responsibility of this name! Don’t you love my mittens? My foster mommy says I’m a 6-toed (polydactyl) little fuzzball of love and energy. She says she is amazed that I’m such a happy, healthy and loving little boy considering the rough start I had as a little tiny baby. It seems that my siblings and I were found in the middle of a country road trying to waddle across with our tiny 4 week old legs. All we wanted to do was find help for our mama. We found her lying by the side of the road. She was very quiet and wouldn’t move or talk to us so I think she was hurt bad. We knew we had to get help but we got so tired working our way across that giant road that we had to stop in the middle and rest. Luckily, a huge, loud machine on wheels came really close to us and a great big human got out and picked us all up. The human took us to the Humane Society but I guess my mommy was too sick to stay with us so the human took her someplace else. We stayed at the Humane Society for a few weeks. Every day I tried to get a glimpse at all the new kitties brought into the shelter, hoping that one of them was my mommy coming to take us back to our home in the corn field. Unfortunately, mommy never came back. My foster mommy says she’s at the Rainbow Bridge hospital where she is feeling much better. She even sent a message through the clouds telling us that she loves us and that everything is going to be ok. Mommy was right because everything has been ok. I have been living with my foster mommy for the past 3 weeks and am having sooooo much fun. Foster mommy says I have a great big motor in my chest that makes a loud purring noise every time she picks me up or plays with me. My motor also goes off when I play with the mousy. He’s a special mousy because he was born with a string coming out of his back. He likes to run around in circles and I try to catch him. It’s hard work because he’s a really fast runner. Sheeshh! I’m getting dizzy just thinking about it. One of these days I’m going to catch him though, mark my words! When I’m not playing with Mr. Mousy, I try to act grown up by hanging out with the big kitties who live here. I learned how to run and jump real high so I could sit on the table by the window with them and watch the birdies. The grown-up kitties are ok, but they sure do act old sometimes. They don’t seem to have as much energy as I do and they never want to play along when I spring out of hiding, jump on them and try to get them to wrestle with me. I sure wish there were some younger kitties here that liked to wrestle like I do. Foster mommy says she’s looking for a forever home for me with a kitty more my age who likes to wrestle. OK, foster mommy says it’s time to go to bed now. Bedtime is one of my favorite times because I love to give nose kisses to mommy, lay on my back while she rubs my tummy, chase the toe-ghost under the sheets and snuggle up around her neck, fall fast asleep and dream of my forever family. Will I see you in my dreams tonight?
