You can see from my picture that I am adorable. I have the daintiest of feet, the bluest of eyes, and the softest of fur coats. I'm still just a baby at about 10 months old. Maybe you can also see that I am confused, and a little bit scared. Lately things have been a blur. My foster mom does her best to explain things to me, but it's hard for me to understand.

MISR found me at an animal control shelter, huddling in the back of a cage. I was cold, and very sad. Someone had left out a trap, and being so trusting, I had walked right into it. I tried to get out and ended up rubbing my nose and my eyebrows raw on the trap's wires. Foster mom got me out of animal control and took me to the vet's office, where they took great care of me. I had awful fleas and ear mites - I feel so much better that they're gone! My nose is healing, and I now have a nice warm place to sleep.

I'm still a little shy, though I feel myself getting braver every day. I do love being petted, especially cheek rubs. Mom says I'm like a wiggle-worm because I flop on the floor and squirm because I like the pets so much. She also says that I must have missed body language day in kitty kindergarten, because even when I'm really happy and purring, I'll put my ears back. Oh, and I just love to talk. Especially when I want attention and foster mom isn't fast enough giving me any.

It's been so long since someone has been so nice to me, I can hardly believe it. Most of the day I like to nap and dust under the furniture, but as soon as the sun goes down, I follow foster mom around, talking up a storm and doing my best to trip her. Eventually she takes the hint and stops whatever she's doing to sit down and give me a proper mushing.

*****Foster mom's note: Violet is a very sweet kitty. Her vet and I think she may have been mistreated or handled roughly at some point, as her initial reaction when a hand approaches her is to fall onto the floor and 'play dead.' Only after one starts petting her and she realizes that no harm is going to come does she relax and start head-butting and purring. Because of this, we are looking for a home with no small children. One or two friendly cats, and a cat-savvy (read: not a bouncing-off-the-walls puppy) dog would probably be okay after an initial adjustment period.
