Calla is a beautiful blue-point Balinese kitten (9 months old mid-March) with lovely blue eyes. She was one of four siamese kittens rescued from a breeder in Ohio. None of these poor babies had ever been socialised. They came to us very timid, without knowing human affection or the fun that could be had with a cat toy. We have been working with them for a few weeks now, and they are getting more confident every day. Calla is more outgoing than the other kitties we pulled from this breeder. She LOVES to be petted, and is starting to play. Because she has long fur, she will need to be groomed daily. She really likes the company of other cats but what she mostly needs is a loving, affectionate home where she can continue to blossom into the lovely cat we know she is. Update 3/31/04 from Calla's foster mom:
Well, as you know, I came from a breeder who had too many cats. My foster mom saved me from that place and I am a true blue Balinese looking for a home filled with love and lots of time for me. I just couldn't bear to be neglected again.
I require lots of attention! You can pet or brush me forever (which I really don't need, since my coat never mats). It just feels so-o-o good! A warm lap and a long evening of reading or TV is wonderful.
My foster mom thinks I am all hers. In truth, I have my foster dad totally enraptured. He thinks I am the softest, sweetest, most darling little girl that ever walked on four tiny paws. (I only weigh 6 pounds.)
I can meow words: hi, me, out, chirp and purrrr! I love to be rocked on my back and play patty paws on your face. I play with feather toys and dance on my hind legs like any great Balinese dancer. I never scratch, hiss or claw humans or cats.
I need someone with lots of time and love. My coat is so soft, you'll want to pet me just to say again and again: "Oh, how soft she is!" I will give you my heart and soul for your caring attention.
