Rochelle (the darker one) is six and has grown up with Mustafa who is 14. They’ve both been learning new things while in my care. Rochelle has learned how to drink from a faucet which she now tries to do every chance she gets. They had never had toys before so playing is still something they aren’t very used to doing. Rochelle does like to play with a laser, but mostly little balls and tiny furry mice. Mustafa has a tiny furry mouse he likes to play with, but mostly would rather eat, nap, tell you about his day and open cabinet doors (he doesn’t get in them, just likes to open them because he can.). They both have their claws and are up-to-date on their shots. They are on an specific food for food allergies, The vet said he’s quite healthy (and he certainly doesn’t act like he’s 14). Both are on a diet as they are overweight, but are doing quite well. They love their treats. Stafi is very independent and came in as the dominant cat of the two (although Chelle can really sock it to him when needs be). He is talkative and has a gruff/gravelly meow which I really hear when I haven’t given him his treats at a time he thinks I should (which is nearly every time I see him). He’s very happy napping in his cat bed and can be found there rather often. He prefers Rochelle to be with him and yells for her if she’s in another room at least every half hour, but she’s quite good at ignoring him for she prefers lounging on a real bed in the bedroom. He has tried to help me with the laundry as I’ve found him inside my dryer a few times inspecting the machine for me or just sitting in there claiming it for his own. He rarely plays, but that doesn’t seem to bother him. He’d rather investigate his area or cuddle in his bed and nap. He is very good at chatting you up and will tell you exactly how he feels or give you his most generous opinion. Rochelle is very much the opposite of Staf for she has a quieter personality, but is becoming more dominant than when she first arrived (she was very docile and fearful). She is very affectionate and has a very soft meow. She loves to be brushed. She enjoys playing, but her favorite is to be loved by you. She’s not as nosy as her brother and seeks your attention most of all even if it’s just laying in the same room with you. She’s very happy looking out a window or napping on your bed. She can be very cautious at first letting Stafi wander out first and if nothing happens to him will slowly make her way out to see what’s going on. Although both have their claws, they love using their scratchers. They have a cardboard scratcher (which Chelle likes to nap on) and a scratching post. They use them interchangeably and often so there is no worry about furniture or carpets being torn up. They love catnip though Staf prefers to eat it while Rochelle prefers to roll all over in it.
