Alexander is a beautiful Seal Point Siamese. The vet estimates he is one to one and one-half-years-old.
When Alexander wandered away from his home in April 2022, he was lucky to arrive at his (future) foster mom’s house. He was a bit “roughed up” but he seems to be okay. Foster mom fed him for a few days but when he showed up one day with bloody cuts, bites and scratches, she took him to the vet.
She named him “Alexander,” and he was neutered, given flea and de-worming treatments, rabies and distemper shots, FIV/FELV tested (negative-Yay!) and micro chipped!
Alex is now fully integrated with foster mom’s cats. He does great with everyone and tends to be the “peacemaker.” He can also be a bit of a pest, in a kitten-like way. He wants to initiate play whether the other cat is interested or not. Nothing bad, but it has annoyed some of the old guys.
Now that he has gained confidence, he loves to play especially with the "kicky" toys and empty toilet paper tubes. Potential adopters should not tease Alex with their hands because he will use your hand just like a kicky toy. He has been taught a "no" sound. He also knows an eye blink as "yes, all good" and he will listen and does look to his person for guidance.
Alex’s foster home is very “cat-friendly” with access to a large play area with shelves that circle the room high up on the walls. He gets up on the shelves and just runs. Without this type of entertainment, he can be non-stop underfoot and into whatever you are doing. He likes to be around his people. His new people need to be prepared for a cat that wants to be with them and wants attention!
He does not care to sit on your lap or to be held, but he will sit next to you or at your feet. You can carry him if you need to, but to just sit and try to cuddle him will get a grumble. It is "let's go do what we have to do and put me down." He is FABULOUS about the carrier and he sometimes sleeps in one if available. He rides in the car very well. He has great litter box habits (seems to prefer open litter boxes).
He has one "issue" - people food. He loves, loves, people food. He loves all food but especially people food. With people food, he almost goes nuts. Foster mom is working on behavior modification for him.
Foster mom said he is a cool little cat with tons of personality, and she loves him dearly. She would love to keep him but Alex needs more one-on-one attention than he can get living with a herd of cats.
Alex is located in a foster home in Cincinnati Ohio. It is about a 4.5 to 5 hour drive from Detroit. The adoption fee for Alex is $200 and all his known health issues have been addressed.
