Tiffany is a survivor. We think she was someone’s pet and just got lost. On a cold and rainy day, as she wandered the deserted streets, she saw a car with the door open. Tiffany is a smart cat and jumped into the car. The car belonged to a nice lady who was a volunteer with a TNR organization. She was there to feed stray cats.
The lady realized that Tiffany was not a feral cat since she was so friendly and not afraid of her. She brought her to MISR and Tiffany was examined by our vet. Sadly, she was diagnosed as FIV positive. Many cats that are FIV positive lead normal lives. For information on FIV in cats, please look at our "Pages of Interest" box on the left of our webpage. Click on "FIV Info" for a complete explanation of FIV in cats.
Because of her FIV positive status, Tiffany must be the only cat in the home. FIV cats need a stress-free home without small children or dogs.
Everyone who has come in contact with Tiffany describes her as a friendly, affectionate cat. She likes to follow her humans all around the house so she needs a home where people are home quite a bit. She has been described by people who have met her as “sweet.” The vet thinks she is between one and two-years-old.
Although FIV can only be spread via a bite that breaks the skin, we would prefer that she go to a home where she is the only cat. Tiffany is located in a foster home in Pinckneyi Mi and her adoption fee is $200. All MISR cats are FIV/FELV tested, neutered or spayed, current on rabies and distemper and all known health issues have been addressed.
