Ash has an adoption pending,11/19/22.

Ash is a gorgeous Seal Point Snowshoe Siamese born 4/15/19. He came to MISR because his owner was seriously ill and could no longer take care of Ash and his brother, Ahmi. They are being adopted separately because they seemed to negatively influence each other when confined in the same room. Ahmi has been adopted.

Ash is apprehensive about being picked up and will struggle to escape. Until his new owners gain his trust, it will be a challenge to pick him up.  There are ways to do this and MISR will have some helpful suggestions.

Ash is doing really well since he arrived at his foster home and has shown slow but steady progress. The constant hissing is gone. He will occasionally hiss but we think of it as more of a greeting rather than a warning. He still startles easier but he is much calmer than when he arrived.

Ash must have a litter box at least 12 inches high in the back because he stands up to pee. This is not unusual, we have had a number of foster cats that urinate over the side of the litter box. Foster mom bought him a special high sided litter box and that is working very well. Ash did have a covered litter box but his new box is working better. Ash now uses the litter box flawlessly.

Ash is a good eater but he does cover his food with a placemat or toys or whatever he can drag over it. We think he does this to “save” it. This is just one of his quirks. He loves to throw himself on floor and drag himself across the room to you if you are sitting on the floor. He will continuously purr, give you head butts, purr, then more purring and head butts.

Ash cannot go to a home with small children. He does not like to be picked up. We are hopeful that when he is more relaxed, he will allow it.

All MISR cats are spayed or neutered, FIV/FELV tested, current on rabies and distemper and all known health issues have been addressed. The adoption fee for Ash is $200 and he is located in a foster home in Novi, MI
