Although he didn’t want them, Thomas now has “Street Creds.” He was found with a colony of feral cats but he was NOT feral. Fortunately, he was picked up by a TNR group.  Thomas was evaluated by a vet, neutered and brought up-to-date on rabies but, he still needs one more distemper shot.

The vet thinks Thomas is about 1 ½ years old.  Thomas is clearly very afraid of men. It doesn’t matter if the man is nice and quiet, Thomas is frightened. If foster dad comes into the room without foster auntie, Thomas will hiss, spit, and growl.  If auntie is with him, he will allow foster dad in the room and he is allowed to pet Thomas.  Thomas needs a home with women only.  He cannot go to a home with children or dogs.

His foster dad and auntie say Thomas has made good progress since he arrived, but he is still a scaredy cat.  He likes his auntie and she is allowed to pick him up and pet him.  He will purr for her too.  Foster dad is still viewed as a threat by Thomas.

Foster auntie recommends that Thomas is initially kept in a room where he cannot hide under a bed or furniture.  He will still need a place to hide so he is not terrified.  A large cardboard box, or a large carrier with a blanket over it should do.

Thomas needs a house with a quiet atmosphere, a nice lady (or ladies) with patience who will allow him time to adjust, and, no dogs or children.

Thomas is located in a foster home in Novi and his adoption fee is $200.  He is neutered, current on rabies, will be FIV/FELV tested soon, and will get his second distemper shot at the same time.
