ONLY ADOPTERS EXPERIENCED WITH LONG HAIRED CATS SHOULD APPLY  Bandit needs to be adopted by someone who can brush him and properly care for a long-haired cat. Please do not apply if you don’t have this experience.  Bandit is usually cooperative with being brushed and he does well when taken to a groomer. Bandit will need to be checked often for tangled fur. If left untended, it will be very uncomfortable and even painful for him.
UPDATE 05/03/21 - Bandit wants to go to a home with another cat for companionship. He really enjoys having a friend! Bandit really prefers cats over people for companionship.

This poor kitty has been adopted and returned because the adopter could not keep up with the requirements for Bandit’s care. Bandit came back to us in bad shape with terribly matted hair that had to be shaved. (See his "lion" haircut). Don’t apply for this cat if you are not willing to take the time and energy to care for his fur. It was difficult for Bandit to be adopted and returned and we don’t want to stress him again.

Bandit is a beautiful, male, Siamese/Ragdoll mix kitty born on 6/10/18 (He will be three years old this year). Bandit had a hard life so far. He was a very unhappy and angry cat when he came to MISR.

After many months of tolerant and loving care from his foster dad and auntie, Bandit  made incredible progress. He was integrated with the entire household and had the time of his life! He played with spring toys with the kittens and Rajah.  He even played by himself with the spring toy by throwing it in the air and chasing it.

While he has adjusted well in his foster home, his adopter must let Bandit set the pace for being touched. Bandit is still in the process of adjusting to sitting on a lap. Bandit will let the adopter know when he is ready for closer contact. With time and patience, he will settle down as he has at his foster home.

Bandit is less afraid of foster dad and is getting calmer and braver in small but steady steps. He is quite relaxed, just lying around the house.  He likes to stay by the screen door to the “kitten room” and "supervise them."

It is still a bit difficult to convince him that going to the vet is a good thing but it can be done.  He is fast and crafty. Once he is caught and held, he is calm and does not bite.

All MISR cats are FIV/FELV tested, spayed or neutered, current on rabies and distemper and all known health issues have been addressed.  The adoption fee for Bandit is $200 and his foster home is in Novi MI.
