Snickers is a very handsome, male, Seal Point Siamese, a little over one-year-old. Foster mom describes him as “petite.”  Poor Snickers was cruelly dropped off in the country and left to fend for himself. Although we have heard similar stories many times, it always makes us angry that people can be so heartless.

Neighbors had seen him for about two weeks before his Good Samaritan rescuers knew he was around. They saw him when he was trying to hunt chipmunks to fill his hungry belly.  They set a live trap and caught him!  He was scared and very hungry.  They could see there was something wrong with his eye. He also had a healed torn ear and chipped fang.

So, Snicker’s compassionate rescuers took him to a vet. The vet said Snickers had a puncture wound (now healed) to his right eye.  Sadly, there was nothing the vet could do and Snickers is blind in that eye. Because of his limited vision and tendency to be easily startled, SNICKERS CANNOT GO TO A HOME WITH CHILDREN.

Snickers likes to play and is learning to trust his foster mom and dad. He also enjoys picking on the dogs. He does not like the resident big dog but he bosses the small dog around.  The vet said he thought Snickers had been bitten by a dog, hence, he may not have a lot of love for doggies.

However, today, 9/22, foster mom said she thinks Snickers is developing a friendship with her 40 lb. dog. She thinks it is possible that Snickers would enjoy being with a cat-friendly dog.

Snickers loves to talk and purr. He is a smart cat and has no interest in going outside. He is a handsome boy and politely uses his litter box without any accidents. He loves to eat (probably because he really didn’t want to eat chipmunks.) Snickers is an attention seeker and wants to be wherever you are.  He will give you lots of “love bites” very gently, and he understands the words “No” and “Down.”

We hope someone out there realizes how much Snickers has been through and why he needs and deserves a loving home.  Snickers does have limited vision and requires a stable environment.

All MISR cats are spayed or neutered, FIV/FELV tested current on rabies and distemper and all known health issues have been addressed.  The adoption fee for Snickers is $150 and he is located in Charlotte MI (about 21 miles southwest of Lansing MI)
