Those of us who work with rescues are sometimes appalled by the choices people make.  Like dropping off your cat on a farm where he/she can live off the land and be free!  That is not what happens.

Just ask Cheyenne (a Lynx Point Siamese Mix).  She was dropped off at a farm near Marshall.   Shortly thereafter, she was attacked by a rowdy gang of feral cats and sustained an eye injury.  Cheyenne was terrified.  She was injured and alone.  She didn’t know why they attacked her; she was always polite to other cats.  She wondered if our country’s incivility was spreading to cats.

Fortunately, there are still good people in the world, like the lady who brought her in and took care of her.  Cheyenne was very appreciative of the lady’s kindness.  The lady could not keep her but she could not let her out to be attacked by those feral cats again, so she contacted MISR.

She said that Cheyenne was friendly and had no problem with being picked up and petted.  It was obvious to her that Cheyenne had been someone’s pet.  Cheyenne is not afraid of people.

After a trip to the vet (who estimated her to be about five-years-old) to check her eye, FIV/FELV test (negative), treatment for fleas, etc., Cheyenne headed for her new foster home in Novi, MI.

Cheyenne's foster dad reports that she is a real talker and she does not have a harsh voice.  It would be nice if she found a home where people appreciate it.

All MISR cats have been FIV/FELV tested, spayed/neutered, current on rabies and distemper and all known health issues have been addressed.  Cheyenne’s adoption fee is $125 and she is in a foster home in Novi, MI.
