RAYA HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING, 04/12/18
Raya is a unique, and pretty female Siamese Snowshoe/Tortie mix. She is about 8 months old, probably born in June 2017. She had a rough start in life since she was found living with feral cats in a trailer park.
The nice lady, who was trapping the feral cats, realized that Raya was not feral and brought her in for a vet examination and to be spayed. Raya came to her MISR foster home in December 2017. She has been getting plenty of care and attention as she makes the transition from frightened “semi-feral” kitty to a normal kitty.
Raya (RIE-ahhh) is Spanish for “stripe” and she got her name because of the very cute stripe down her nose.
Raya was very scared when she arrived and she has been making great progress but she is still considered “shy.” It took weeks for her to get comfortable with her foster family but now she is affectionate and playful with them. Raya is still fearful of strangers and will run and hide when they arrive.
Foster mom says Raya is a very playful kitten. She used to have a companion cat, Teddy, and loved to play with him and groom him (see video). Teddy was recently adopted.
Foster mom thinks Raya would do best in a home where someone is there much of the day. Raya likes to stay by foster mom’s side while she works at home. Foster mom also thinks Raya would appreciate having another cat companion.
All MISR cats are neutered/spayed, FIV/FELV negative, current on rabies and distemper shots and all known health issues have been addressed. Raya’s adoption fee is $150 and she is in a foster home in Novi, MI.
