TOBY HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING.
Toby is a 2 ½ year-old, male, Siamese, mix (with some Lynx Point and maybe Maine Coon). He is new to MISR and his foster mom said he is shy but once he gets to know you he is friendly and cuddly.
We’re not sure how it happened, but one of Toby’s back legs was injured. He may have been caught in a trap. At first, the vet thought the leg would heal. Unfortunately, it did not and the vet had to amputate Toby’s leg.
Toby is healing very well and we are optimistic that he will make a full recovery. Despite the pain and trauma, Toby continues to have a friendly, mellow disposition.
He appears to accept the other cats in the foster home with dignity and grace. He is eating well and using the litter box like a good boy. He is an active cat and would probably do best in a home with people who will give him attention and where there are laps for him to sit on. Of course, he would also be comfortable in a home with only one or two laps as long as they were available quite often.
The vet believes that Toby is capable of living a long, healthy, normal life after his leg heals and he adapts to having three legs. MISR did have a three-legged cat a while ago and he was adopted within a few months and is still doing great.
We hope someone has the heart to help Toby complete his recovery and offer him a forever home where he will only be indoors and safe from any further harm. A home where he will get all the love and affection he needs and deserves.
The adoption fee for Toby is $150. All MISR cats are FIV/FELV tested, up-to-date on rabies and distemper, spayed or neutered, and all known health issues have been addressed.
