PENNY HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING.

My name is Penny and I was born on Valentine's Day 2012. So I just turned five years old! I am a friendly, female, Seal Point looking for a home without too much drama. I am a confident, calm, lap-sitting, purring cat.

I applied and was accepted at MISR with the hope that they can find a new home for me.  My original home was hectic, with a mix of mom, kids and cats, but when a fiancé and dogs were added, it was just too much for me.

I am now in a quiet foster home and feeling relaxed. I have been around children, I got used to them playing a little rough. I would grab onto a hand without really biting down. So, I would not be good with small children. I would prefer children age 10+.  

Foster mom is working with me on this issue but it is hard to break old habits.  She said I have never actually "bitten" her. I just put my teeth on her without biting. I'm not doing it to be mean. It's more like I'm playing. But whoever adopts me will have to keep telling me "No" until I learn.

I may get along with other cats but I am not sure about dogs. I might do best as an only cat. However, if the introduction was handled slowly and properly, I think I can live with another, nice cat.

I enjoy lots of attention and human contact.  I want to be around humans  and I sleep right next to my foster mom. I also enjoy playing and have a favorite toy on a wand with feathers and a small bell.  

I am just a tiny bit overweight and I am on a restricted diet. I've already lost one pound and hope to shed a few more. The vet said I should not lose weight too fast.

All MISR cats are FIV/FELV negative, spayed/neutered; current on rabies and distemper and all known health issues have been addressed.  The adoption fee for Penny is $150. Penny is in a foster home in Howell, MI.
