ADOPTION PENDING
Hazel and Henry are gentle, quiet, and frightened (at least for now) four-year-old Siamese. They are both Seal points and a bonded pair that must be adopted together. Henry has been neutered and Hazel has been spayed.
Their story is a sad example of what can happen to your pets if you don’t make arrangements for them should anything happen to you. Their owner died and, instead of having some compassion for her beloved and distressed pets, her family tossed both cats (and the dog) out of the house and left them to fend for themselves. Regrettably, it happens all too often.
Fortunately, a kind-hearted neighbor brought all three of them into her home. However, allergies prevented her from keeping the cats and MISR was happy to accept Henry and Hazel get them up-to-date on rabies and distemper, and find them a forever home.
Their foster mom describes them as quiet and calm. There is no hissing or growling, although they are still frightened. She can pick them up and pet them and describes them as “scared but cooperative.” Foster mom also said that Henry loves catnip and is a bit friendlier than Hazel.
They probably would get along with a well-behaved dog since they were living with one. We know they are afraid of children and believe their exposure to children was limited. This may change as they adjust to their foster home but for the time being, they can’t go to a home with children.
The vet pronounced them in good health. Henry had to have a tooth extracted and he is feeling much better. Their coats are not in great condition but with proper food and care, their coats should improve.
All MISR cats are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on rabies and distemper, and all known health issues have been addressed. The adoption fee for both Henry and Hazel is a total of: $300.
