MOOKIE HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING, 10-07-16
Note: Mookie will probably not do well with children.
She is still skittish. Also, she probably will not do well in a home where she is left alone for long periods of time since she is very active.
Hello, my name is “Mookie Bleu” (bleu is French for blue). I have a fancy name because I am a fancy-looking kitty. I’m a Seal Point/Tortoise Point mix with unique markings and I am spayed. The vet thinks I am about one-year-old.
Most of the stories on MISR are sad and mine is too. My mom was hit and killed by a car when I was only a few months old. A nice lady felt sorry for me and brought me in to her home.
She already had a cat and a dog so having an extra mouth to feed was a burden. She loved me very much but knew I needed vet care (rabies, distemper, worm treatment, spay, etc.) so she made the tough decision to find a good home for me.
I arrived at my MISR foster home after a visit to the vet where I was pronounced in very good health with good teeth (Yay!). I got my rabies and distemper shots and tested negative for FIV/FELV.
Both the Nice Lady and Foster Mom say I am an affectionate, gentle kitty. (The girls at the vet’s office said I was a beautiful kitty with excellent manners).
I am skittish and I run and hide whenever anyone comes to visit. I've been in my foster home for about 5 months and Foster Mom says I'm doing well. I may never be the kind of cat that greets any guests and will still hide. But she doesn't think I will be terrified of new people. Just wary.
Sometimes, I jump up on the couch next to foster mom and let her pet me or I sit on her lap.
After one month, I made friends with Frankie and I love to grab his tail, jump out at him, and wrestle (even though he is about 3x my size).
I like chasing the (laser) red dot all over and enjoy stalking the mouse on a string and stick. Foster Mom and I have play time at least three times a day.
I probably will get along with another cat as long as I am introduced properly and not just let out of a carrier with the new cat waiting for me.
When Foster Mom brought Frankie, into the room a few days after I arrived, I was terrified, even though she carried him and didn’t get near me. Just seeing him was enough for me to go into arched-back, fluffed tail mode. So, let this serve as a warning, I must be cautiously introduced to any other cats.
I need someone who understands it will take time for me to get used to both new people and, possibly, a new cat. Foster Mom said it took a few days for me to get comfortable with her. I hid behind the sofa.
I am looking for a home with people who like to give their cats lots of love and play time. Do I sound like the right cat for you?
Please complete an application today so I can have a forever home with you.
All MISR cats are FIV/FELV negative, neutered or spayed, current on rabies and distemper and all known health issues have been addressed. Mookie's adoption fee is $150.
MOOKIE IS IN A PRIVATE FOSTER HOME IN HOWELL MI.
