Hello, my name is “Lily Blue’ and I am a nine-year-old, spayed, female Blue Point Snowshoe Siamese / Linx. My father was a pure bred Chocolate Point Himalayan retired show cat and my mother was a Lilac Point Snowshoe Siamese / Lynx mix.
I need to find a new home because a member of my human family has developed allergies. Why he cannot just stay outside is puzzling but apparently, he is not willing to, so I am the one searching for a new home. Sometimes, life is just unfair.
I have all the endearing qualities of my breed: I am independent, have many diva-like tendencies, still have episodes of the “spins”, like to do things on my own terms. I’m vocal (rarely perform the infamous Siamese ‘yowl’ but have never done the ‘baby cry’), I catch bugs, and alert my people to other critters like mice, and I let you know what I need. I’ll greet you at the door and lead you to the food dish and litter box when they need tending.
I cannot go to a home with children. I'm not sure about adjusting to another cat, or cats. It is possible with the proper introduction we will get along. Also, not sure about a dog that may harass cats. I love my Bernese mountain dog but he completely ignores me. I may be too set in my ways to get along with another cat.
Like many others of my breed, I am perfect for someone who wants an ornamental cat: I will sit on your sofa or in your window and look beautiful but I’m content to be left alone (at least until I get to know you.) If I am forced into any kind of interaction, I will hiss (it sounds like a sneeze) but I have never bitten or tried to bite anyone.
I love laser pointer toys, 'cat fishing pole' toys, soft treats, and will tolerate brushing but I’m very vocal throughout the experience. Lastly, although this is not relevant until next year, I have never tried to climb a Christmas tree!
Lily has recently been to the vet and had her rabies shot and a checkup. The vet said she is healthy and her teeth are good.
