Poor Jasper has been through a lot. He was found while hanging out with a feral colony. He had obviously been seriously injured, perhaps hit by a car resulting in a crushed right rear leg. We don’t know how long he suffered with this injury before he was caught and brought to a vet. He was malnourished and completely covered in fleas.
After examination, the vet determined the leg could not be saved. She also said Jasper was a Seal Point mix and was about one year old. Jasper was scheduled for neutering and having his leg amputated. This was in late August 2020. It took a while to heal, but when the vet removed the staples from his leg she said it looked good.
Jasper is doing very well. He is able to get around and even chases the other kitties and acts like a “normal” cat although he only has three legs. His foster dad said Jasper likes to climb to the top of the cat tree, probably to prove to the other cats that he can. MISR has had other three-legged cats put up for adoption and they are doing fine.
Jasper gets along with the other kitties and likes to sleep with foster dad. Jasper is located in a foster home in Novi and his adoption fee is $200.
If you feel you can give this boy a loving home to make up for his very rough young life, please complete an application today. Jasper deserves a safe and loving home.
All MISR cats are spayed or neutered, FIV/FELV tested, current on rabies and distemper shots and all known health issues have been addressed.
