IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN LESS THAN 8 YEARS OF AGE…PLEASE DO NOT APPLY.  AMARI NEEDS ANOTHER KITTY CLOSE TO HER AGE IN THE HOME.

Amari’s estimated birth date is 4/8/20 making her about 8½ months old.  She is a Siamese Lynx Point mix. When Amari came to MISR, she was very scared and still traumatized from being thrown out of a car. The perpetrator is unknown.

Amari did not want to be touched.  She hid behind the cat bed instead of laying in it. At first she didn't know how to use the litter box. She would not play with toys nor was she energetic or playful.

The foster family spent much time and effort, slowly working with Amari to help her get comfortable with people. After a lot of gentle interaction with the family, Amari is a happy, playful, lap-sitting kitten.  She runs around the house and plays with toys; she plays with the young dog in the house but not with the 12-year-old grandma cat. She'll jump up and rub on her foster family for petting even if they are using the computer, just like a regular cat.
Note: Although Amari has made tremendous progress from being a scaredy cat, she still is easily frightened and cannot be around small, fast-moving children.

Amari loves her people and follows them around the house and wants to sit next to them. Her foster family thinks that once she gets in a stable home, she should be able to settle down. They want the adopter to know that they should be very patient with Amari. It took a long time for her to adjust to her foster family.

The adoption fee for Amari is $200 and she is located in a foster home in Brighton MI.
