Mya cannot go to a home with dogs.
Mya is a beautiful, female, Siamese Seal Point. She arrived at MISR a few months ago along with her two “sisters” (Marigold & Meeka). All three were surrendered by their owner who could no longer take care of them. They are estimated to be two to three-years-old.
Foster dad said Mya has been the easiest to interact with but he has had some reservations because she always seems to be on the verge of getting over stimulated while being petted and scratched around her head.
She appears to have a low stimulation threshold and often will paw foster dad and sometimes may nip or place her teeth on him. For this reason, Mya should not go to a home with children under ten years of age.
A few days ago, foster dad let Mya out to integrate with the other cats (there are three in the home). There were no problems (no hissing, biting or scratching). When she was finished socializing, Mya would wait by her door, letting foster dad know she wanted to go back in with her sisters.
This morning Mya decided,on her own, she wanted to get out. She had been allowed out in the afternoon but was out in the morning today with no issues. In fact, she surprised foster day and jumped on the desk and began talking and giving him very strong head-bumps and face-rubs. She finally relaxed and foster dad was able to take some photos.
All MISR cats are neutered or spayed, current on rabies and distemper, FIV/FELV tested, and all known health issues have been addressed. The adoption fee for Mya is $150 and she is located in a foster home in Novi MI.
