ALFIE HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING.
Alfie is a very handsome, male, neutered Snowshoe Siamese with a great personality. He was born in May 2017, so he will be two-years-old very soon. He would love to celebrate it in his really and truly, forever home.
His original family could not keep him because one of the children developed a severe allergy. They hated to give him up but they had no choice.
When he moved to his second home, his new owner did everything right when introducing him to her two cats but the three cats could not work out their differences. And now Alfie has to find another home and this time he won’t unpack his bags until he is sure it is a forever home. Poor Alfie! He's probably thinking, "What's it all about?"
His current owner said Alfie kept trying to play and socialize with her two kitties, but they did not respond well. The female cat became extremely stressed out and terrified of Alfie. He is a big cat (about 12+ pounds) and perhaps he intimidated her small cats.
It is important to point out that it was not Alfie’s fault that he could not stay at either home. There wasn’t anything he could do. An allergy is no one’s fault and he did try to get along with the two smaller cats.
Alfie is a very special and amazing cat. He is very vocal and his meows sound like "Hello!” He loves being petted (head scratches, back scratches, butt scratches) and occasional, gentle belly rubs. He will show you his belly when he's in the mood.
He loves chasing a stick under a towel. He loves games of hide-and-seek, chasing things behind a curtain; and, hiding behind a curtain and jumping out in a dramatic fashion. He likes small, soft toys and loves catnip. He loves food and always waits for it when it's time to be fed. He likes to be around people but also likes some alone time and sleeps on top of his cat tower.
He does not like loud noises ( vacuum, garage door opening, doorbells, and people entering the house). He is very afraid of thunder, so you will need to calm him during a storm and probably during any fireworks. Alfie uses his litter box with no incidents (it has to be cleaned regularly or he will not use it).
Speaking of loud noises, Alfie would not be comfortable with small, loud children. He may be happy with well-behaved, gentle children over the age of 10.
Alfie does not like to be held for long periods of time but will let you pick him up and hold him for a minute or so. He will also allow you to trim his nails without a fuss. He will lay next to a person in bed but prefers to sleep in his own bed for the most part.
It does take him time to warm up to someone and be comfortable in a new space, but once he does, he is an exceptional cat.
MISR cats are all neutered/spayed, FIV/FELV negative, current on rabies and distemper shots, and all known health issued have been addressed. Alfie’s adoption fee is $150 and he is located in Waterford MI.
