Dexter is a three-year-old, neutered, Seal Point Siamese and an amazing boy. He is looking for a new home. Dexter and his owner recently moved away from her family and Dexter was alone most of the time. He did not like being alone at all! He needed to have people around him.
His owner is heartbroken but she realizes Dexter needs much more attention than she can give him. Dexter has great health but has struggled with UTI's in the past. He has been tested for crystals and has been UTI free for over a year. Whoever adopts him will have to be careful with his diet (mostly canned food).
Dexter is very friendly but it takes a while for him to warm up to people. With all the recent changes in his life; he has become a little jumpy. He needs his new people to have enough patience to allow him to adjust to a new home at his own speed.
Dexter enjoys being petted and sitting on laps but it has to be his decision. He does not like to be picked up. He would sleep by his owner’s feet, or in a small closed-in space like a closet. Dexter likes fuzzy blankets and cat toys.
A few years ago, Dexter was attacked by an ill-mannered Husky, twice, so he is terrified of big dogs. He cannot go to a home with a dog. We don’t know if Dexter can get along with other cats but it is possible he could adapt to cat companions with the proper introduction.
You may have noticed that Dexter is missing a piece of his ear. That was done by a disagreeable cockatoo. Dexter does not want any cockatoos at his next home.
We hope that there is someone out there who will give this handsome, friendly boy a forever home and the attention and love he deserves. Dexter is located in a foster home in Montague MI.
All MISR cats and kittens are FIV/FELV tested, current on rabies and distemper shots, and all known health issues have been addressed. Dexter’s adoption fee is $150.00.
