My name is Calleigh and I am a Snowshoe Siamese girl, born in 2010. I am a quiet girl and I'm slow to trust humans. I enjoy being petted, but only when I'm on the bed and only when I ask to be petted by coming close and raising my head for a pat. I still run away if my foster mom comes towards me.
I would love to have a human of my own; that would probably make me more outgoing. I guess other cats might be okay. I got along with the other foster cat (Biggie Smalls) but it tooks several months of me hissing and growling at him. I probably got along with him because he was about 3 times my size and 10 years old.
However, I am not very fond of Max. He's been here since early March. I admit I stalked him and tried to attack him. My foster mom said we had two "cartoon cat fights, rolling around screeching and clawing" so now we are always separated. This means I may or may not get along with another cat.
Whoever adopts me should understand that I will probably never be a lap cat. He or she will need lots and lots of patience. I will likely hide for some time before I come out and let you pet me. But my foster mom said I've made good progress. In the past, I did not let anyone touch me. Now I like to be petted but only on my terms.
Please think about giving me a chance. My foster mom thinks I am beautiful and that I just need more time to learn how to trust people. Think of me as a long-term project. Maybe with your help, I can be a normal cat.
