Hello, my name is “Dora” and I am a female, spayed, Seal Point Siamese. I was born o2/21/15, so, I am 4.7 years old. I was lost and afraid when I was rescued by a nice lady who called MISR.  I was afraid because I have very limited vision and didn’t know where I was, who was a friend or enemy, or, how to get home.

The vet says I have an underdeveloped optic nerve.  That is why my pupils are always so dilated and my vision is limited.  I have adapted very well to my foster home.  I can find my way around, up on the counters, on foster dad's bed, etc. The other cats have learned not to surprise me (I let them know I don't like surprises).

Because of my limited vision, I need a quiet home with no children, dogs, or other cats.  I also need a stable home where they don’t make many changes, i.e., move furniture, my food bowls, etc., or have a lot of loud and exciting company.  Laid back home bodies would be good.

The vet thinks that I can function very well with my partial sight as long as my new family understands my limitations and can provide a safe environment.

My foster dad thinks I am a beautiful girl and said I have good litter box habits.  I allow him to pet me and pick me up but not for long! It has taken a long time to get over my fear of all these new people and events, like going to the vet, but I am doing very well.

Won’t you please think about giving me a chance at a new life?  Someone with patience and a kind heart would be good for me.

Note: Dora has made great progress at her foster home. She has been showing a playful side with the other cats.  She no longer hisses or growls all the time, only when she is surprised. Dora has also decided she is a lap-cat. She hangs out with foster dad and aunt on the sofa while they watch TV. Then, all on her own, she decided to curl up on auntie’s lap. She has done it many times.

All MISR cats/kittens are FIV/FELV negative, spayed or neutered, up-to-date on rabies and distemper and all known health issues have been addressed. The adoption fee for Dora is $150. She is located in a foster home in Novi.
